I have been Assistant Manager of Cooperage within the Cellar Master team since March 1st, 2016.
On September 1st, 2008, I joined the Rémy Martin Product Development department as a cellar operator after several years of experience in cooperage. I had various responsibilities to begin with, from racking and refilling casks to repairing the rows, receiving eaux-de-vie and delivering them to the various cellars. Three years later, I was assigned to ‘Cellar A’ where all Rémy Martin casks are forwarded daily before delivery to the cellars or wine-making section. This taught me how to manage a wide variety of cellar operations, such as handling cask deliveries and returns to and from the wine-making section, receiving and preparing new casks and managing the eaux-de-vie needed to fill them. I have been Assistant Manager of Cooperage within the Cellar Master team since March 1, 2016. This promotion has given me new responsibilities as it is my job to ensure the quality of the casks for the aging of Rémy Martin eaux-de-vie. I must therefore ensure that suppliers of new casks comply with specifications, carry out cooperage audits, manage the team of coopers and carry out maintenance on the casks and large containers stored in our cellars and wine-making section.
